Delta Rock® Growth Fund

Concentrated. Long-only. Held through cycles.

Long-horizon positions in a small number of high-growth public companies, selected for the durability of their compounding and the discipline of their management. We hold fewer names, hold them longer, and accept the volatility that comes with conviction.

The Thesis

Compounding is the only edge that scales.

Most public-equity investors spend their effort on what is happening this quarter. The Growth Fund is built around the opposite premise: the durable returns in public markets accrue to the companies that compound at high rates for unusually long periods, and they accrue to the investors who are patient enough to hold those companies through the noise.

We look for businesses that own something the market cannot easily reproduce, run by management teams that allocate capital the way an owner allocates, with capital structures that survive a credit cycle without flinching. The number of public companies that meet all three tests is small. We are content to hold a small number of them.

How the fund holds itself.

i. Concentrated

Concentration is the price of conviction. The fund holds a small number of names rather than a diversified basket; each position is sized to matter. We hold a small number of positions and size each to matter.

ii. Long-only, public markets

The Growth Fund invests in publicly traded equities. It does not short, it does not lever, it does not participate in private rounds (those are vehicles of their own). We disclose every position, and we hold only what we would underwrite ourselves.

iii. Five-to-twenty-year horizon

The time horizon for a position is the time horizon over which the underlying business compounds. We do not own businesses for quarters. We own them for cycles. The vehicle is open-ended because the horizon is open-ended; investors who join the fund are expected to hold on the same cadence.

iv. Indifferent to the calendar

Quarterly performance is a measurement of how the market felt about our names over a ninety-day window. It is not a measurement of how those businesses are doing. We report on what is required, we do not chase what is fashionable, and we are willing to look wrong for years on positions we are right about over decades.

We do not believe in owning a hundred companies in order to look thoughtful about ten.

Where engagements begin..

Engagements begin with a quiet conversation about your situation, your time horizon, and the way you want the work done. If the fit is right, we proceed to verification, documentation, and onboarding.
